FAQS

I work with highly successful women, couples, and families affected by their own—or a loved one’s—substance use or mental health challenges. Many of my clients have achieved great success but struggle with unhealthy patterns in relationships and want to create a healthier legacy than the one they grew up with.
I help clients:
Repair strained communication
Reduce over-functioning that creates unbalanced relationships
Address avoidant tendencies like estrangement
Manage guilt around setting boundaries or distancing from family
We focus on learning to set and maintain healthy boundaries without guilt, which allows for safer, more vulnerable communication. Boundaries also help practice unconditional love—even with a partner struggling with addiction or mental illness—and create the space to reduce contact with loved ones who disrespect them.
Our work may include taking temporary “healthy distance,” understanding difficult feelings tied to ending relationships, and preventing the patterns of your family of origin from repeating in your life. For women who experienced childhood abuse or neglect, setting boundaries can be especially challenging, as compliance may have been necessary to survive.
Many of my clients are high-achieving entrepreneurs or professionals. For those in the public eye, privacy is a priority, and I take it very seriously.

Sessions are virtual through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. This allows for convenience and privacy. I expect to have an office in Center City, Philadelphia within the next year.

I do not accept insurance. However, I do not want finances to be a barrier to you getting help. I can educate you about “out-of-network” benefits if you have them. Or, I am sometimes able to offer a reduced rate.
Some of my clients use their out-of-network insurance benefits to get reimbursed for part of the session. If that’s important to you, it’s a good idea to check with your insurance company before scheduling, because reimbursement rates can vary a lot.
Most of my clients choose to pay cash to avoid dealing with insurance companies, which can be tricky—and sometimes even require sharing medical records.
One of the benefits of working with an out-of-network provider is more privacy and discretion. I take confidentiality seriously and make it a priority to protect your information.
If you’d still like to try submitting for reimbursement, I can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company. I just don’t communicate directly with them.
Highly specialized providers often go out-of-network because of their training and their commitment to keeping clients’ information private.
